Here's EarthFirst's take on the DNC's green efforts. Personally, I like the lanyards that informed their wearers, "I used to be a soda bottle."
Having been downtown during the Convention for a few events, I can say that the size of the event must have made it very hard to control the green efforts outside of the Pepsi Center and Invesco Field (and it was likely pretty hard even within convention walls).
It made me think, though, of my interview with GMIC's Executive Director, Tamara Kennedy-Hill, and her thoughts on the importance of leaving a place better off than when you came.
From the Pepsi Center's announcement that it will be the first arena to go effectively carbon neutral to the green training provided to local planners, caterers and others in the industry, I think it is fair to say the DNC has left Denver in a position to be more capable and competitive as a host for future green events.
