This free webcast promises to offer tips on making environmentally-friendly choices for your meetings without sacrificing on quality.

The 45-minute session will be held on August 5, 2008, at 2:00 pm EST. One fellow event blogger, Nancy J. Wilson of Pretentious Musings of a Meet Green Martyr, is scheduled to talk.

Event Alert: Green Frontier Fest - Denver - August 24

Leading up the the Democratic National Convention, Denver will host the Green Frontier Fest, which will give individuals, families, and organizations resources to help them make eco-friendly choices.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper on the event:

With the Green Frontier Fest we are excited to showcase our existing capacity and accomplishments. The Fest is also an expression of our community's collaborative effort to set a new local green standard for the Democratic National Convention and for future conventions here and elsewhere. [emphasis added]

One feature you don't want to miss: Van Jones, founder of Green for All and champion of "green-collar jobs" will be speaking.

I am sure the sustainable wine and beer tastings and the local food offerings will also draw a sizable crowd.

Event Alert: Convene Green Alliance Hosting Focus Forum: Renewable Energy Sparks Meeting Industry (June 19, Washington, DC)

Convene Green Alliance is hosting its second event in a series of educational events in Washington, DC, on June 19, 2008:

The event will focus on the expanding role of renewable energy sources (wind, solar, geo-thermal, hydro, etc.) in the hospitality and meetings industry and will demonstrate how energy and cost savings can be achieved through partnerships between meeting planners and destinations that are investing in these energy technologies.

The American Wind Energy Association and the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority will be among the presenters.

The event is complimentary, as is membership in the Convene Green Alliance.

I learned about this event through the Green Meetings and Events Group on Google, which I recommend joining if you are interested in sustainable events.
